1938 Duolian
This guitar is from around 1938. It originally sported a faux woodgrain finish. I refinished it in a green, vintage-burst, frosted duco. The tight, almost uniform, crystal pattern on the back is the result of a new variation in the formula I mix. Although it is very difficult to control the crystal pattern. This particular formula produced this result on several guitars.
The neck is original. The finish was left just as I found it. It is basswood with a solid headstock and the original 25″ scale fretboard. As with all Duolians, it has a steel body and coverplate. The cone and biscuit are vintage. Likewise for the tailpiece. The tuners are StewMac Golden Age.
